Toto was formed in 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also well-known studio players working with Boz Scaggs) and bassist/singer Bobby Kimball. Toto's third release, Turn Back, was a failure in 1981. However, they bounced back with their fourth album, Isolation, which contained two hits, including the title song and Roseanna. The album and tour makes Toto a household name across the globe.

In 1999, the band release Mindfields and embarks on an extensive tour around the world. After several weeks in Europe, the band heads to Japan for sold-out shows.
